Early Birthday Celebration

Wednesday afternoon Trevor and I headed up the hill to Scottsdale. We had an early birthday celebration for Trevor. It was wonderful. Company, dinner and Trevor's gift. Thank you Grandma Kyle for dinner and cupcakes. Thank you Uncle Mark and Allyson for my cool sneakers. Love you all very much!

Banana Bread

A friend from Lincoln, NE shared this recipe with me. It was her Mother's. And she always stressed to use the ripest bananas you can-the ones that are ready to be tossed. I made this bread last week and Trevor just loved it. Now I am making another loaf to share with the neighbors.

1/2 cup shortening or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 tsp. sour milk (I use sour cream)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 3/4 cup flour
2-3 bananas (the riper the better)

Cream shortening with sugar; add eggs and other liquid + bananas that have been mashed. Add the flour and soda. Pour into greased bread pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 55 minutes.

We Tracked Down The Easter Bunny

I have always enjoyed Easter so much. It will be so fun when Trevor can dye eggs and have Easter egg hunts in the yard. Hopefully we will not be driving on Easter morning. I would love to be in Nebraska by Easter so I can dress Trevor up in his Easter outfit, and go to sunrise church service. But, no matter what he is getting a basket. I plan to stuff it full of goodies.

Friday Dawn and I took the children for a picnic to Freestone Park in Gilbert. This park offers a ton of natural beauty. From baseball fields to a miniature railroad to a cascading waterfall, this historical park has the family covered. Freestyle at the skate park, hit balls at the batting cages or take the children for a ride at the mini amusement park.

Really, we did not put Trevor in Callaway's kennel and shut the door. He did this all on his own. Friday evening we heard him playing with the kennel. I walked around the corner and there Trevor was. I had to grab the camera.
